About Rosie Glassey
I'm Rosie, and I have spent the last twenty seven years running a bespoke commission business on the Isle of Man — engraving stone house signs, awards, memorial pieces, gifts and plaques for individuals, businesses and organisations across the island and beyond.
Every job is different. Every client brings their own brief, their own timeline, their own idea of what they want — and my job is to listen carefully, make something that fits, and deliver it in a way that feels personal rather than transactional.
That kind of work teaches you things that no business course covers. How to manage multiple bespoke commissions simultaneously without losing your mind. How to price something unique with confidence. How to keep clients informed without the whole thing becoming a second job. How to build a business on reputation and relationship rather than volume and visibility.
I learned most of it by trial and error, over many years, while also raising a family, organising community events, and generally getting on with things.

A simple, practical digital guide for commission creatives who find the admin side of their business quietly overwhelming. Built on a system I developed over twenty seven years of bespoke work — and refined until it was simple enough to actually use.
The Community Noticeboard
Professional promotional materials for community event organisers. I have been organising events since the 1980s — the Malvern Fringe, the IOM Art Festival, the Pooil Vaaish Early Christmas Market — and I know exactly what it feels like to need a good poster by Thursday with a budget of almost nothing.

I am based on the Isle of Man, where I live on a farm in the Manx hills with my dog Ruby. I work from a studio in a converted sheep shed at Grenaby, where nine independent artists each get on quietly with their own work.
